RULES FIELD SECURITY
and FLIGHT RULES
Unofficial Summary
| | The club maintains
a set of published rules, approved by the Board , that govern the flying activity and field security.
New
members are given a copy when they join our club. All club members receive a new copy each time revisions are published.
The Club Rules are in addition to the AMA Safety Code. Where there is a conflict, the AMA Rules take precedent.
Field Security rules are intended to preserve our privilege to use the facilities provided by Sarasota
County.
Flight Safety rules are intended to prevent injury or death to our members or visitors to the field. All fliers must have
a current AMA membership card, and comply with all Club and AMA rules.
Inexperienced new members and inexperienced
visitors must fly on a Buddy Box with an instructor or experienced member.
Student pilots must pass a club standardized
exam, both oral and flight. This test is conducted by a qualified instructor or officer of the club. When completed, a Solo
certificate is issued. For the safety of everyone, any pilot flying solo must be able to adequately control his plane. | | |
| | There
is no taxiing in the pits. Maximum of (4) planes fly at one time. No flying over the pits or parking areas. High speed passes
must be at least 75 feet away from the flight line. All pilots should fly from our (4) protected pilot boxes
There are special rules and exceptions for Electric powered and Hi-Start gliders. There are also special rules and
restrictions on Fan Jet and Turbo Jet powered aircraft.
Field courtesy makes a more enjoyable flying experience
for all members. We ask that you share you frequency when another flier is on your channel. Do not to fly when another pilot
is taking a test flight, or flying a new plane for the first time. Fliers that fail to conduct themselves in a courteous
manner, or in accordance with the rules may be suspended or expelled at the discretion of the Board.
All
fliers should be safety conscious, and use good common sense and courtesy, when flying at our flier-friendly field.
This is a brief
summary of the actual rules, and should not be relied upon as authentic or complete. Only the official Club Rules and AMA Rules are what govern. |
